The concept of our predator conservation project is to conserve predators in their natural environment without having
to move them to new areas if possible. We have focused our efforts on finding a solution to cheetah/farmer conflict by
making the cheetahs sustain themselves through tourism. This creates a safe environment where the cheetahs are now
welcome in areas where they were once seen as problem animals.
The idea has now grown into a very successful predator conservation project which conserves all the large predators
on our reserve including cheetah, leopard, hyena, caracal and jackal.
We welcome volunteers on our projects to help us in our efforts to conserve our predators. Please use the menu on the left to get to the relevant information if you are interested in volunteering with us.
We also welcome guests who would like to experience cheetahs up close for a few days; please see our Umkwali Cheetah Experience website for more information.
