We have created the horseback project in an effort to conduct our predator conservation project in a more eco-friendly manner.
Volunteers assist us by performing important duties required by our conservation projects on horseback. This helps us reduce our carbon emissions.
Horses are able to do certain tasks more efficiently and wildlife reacts better to man on horseback than man on foot.
Horses are also able to traverse difficult terrain and they are not limited to roads.
Volunteers participating in the horseback project will assist in the following reserve duties:
• Fence checks
• Water hole checks
• Wildlife monitoring
• Wildlife habituation
• Anti-poaching patrols
Volunteers participating in the horseback project will also be responsible for the horses during their stay.
This will include feeding the horses, grooming, cleaning and maintaining stables and paddock work.
Please see our general information about volunteering with us here.
